The published impostor is a different animal from the beginner impostor. The proof exists; the inner doubt has just gotten more sophisticated. We name the mechanics of the advanced impostor — the "they'll find out next time" loop, the "this one was a fluke" loop, the "but the next book has to be better" loop. Each has a specific repair.
